Happy Birthday Addie!
Addie is four! We celebrated by inviting four of her friends to a fairy/princess/My Little Pony/butterfly party (who said there can only be one theme? when you are a fancy 4 years old, the more themes to your party, the better)!
Everyone dressed fancy-ish (Addie likes to add -ish to the end of many words, I think she thinks they sound fancier that way...and I have to agree). The girls made magic wands, listened to a reading of Fancy Nancy, "whacked" at the pinata, ate a blue & heavily decorated butterfly cake, played "Pass the Princess Crown", and raced around the house & yard in a fairytale scavenger hunt. The day was just special-ish, but not as special-ish as my dear four year old, Addie. She is out-of-this-world and one of God's perfectly perfect blessings.
Here are just a few things I love about you, Addie:
I love that you make yourself laugh and then you get laughing so hard you can't stop.
I love the way you can have a face full of food and dirt and not even know or care.
I love that you are a poor cleaner upper-like me and that you approach adventure and new experiences with caution-like me too.
I love how you prefer to wear your shoes on the wrong feet and I love that your wild hair matches your zest for life.
I love that you refer to your thumb as "thumbkin" and your big toe as "the one that went to the market."
I love that you are not afraid to "boss" (except when it's at me).
I love that today, while talking about how God heals our friends and He heals our boo-boo's, you said to me..."God never gives up mommy, He just never gives up." You are right, He doesn't.
What a gem you are, Addie Joy, simply precious to me.
