Somersaults & Cartwheels

We have been perfecting our cartwheels in this family.  For some reason, every time I am pregnant I feel like doing cartwheels, which can't happen of course, but now that I am pregnant-free I have been hitting a few with the girls in the backyard.  After my first one, I thought I pulled a muscle in my forearm, thigh, and back.  Addie mentioned my legs "were all bent and not too high up."  I laughed out loud and gave her a confused," "What?  Are you saying I'm not a very good cartwheeler?!"  I am much better in my mind than I am in actuality.  When Brian got home, we all made him try one.  Addie told him that his wasn't as good as mine. I will try to get a video of our cartwheels, because, let me tell you they are much improved...even according to Addie.

Here is Titus getting in on the action.  This is his cartwheel attempt...

When did you last cartwheel?  If it has been awhile, I dare you to give it a try.
Let me know how it goes and if you need a coach/judge, I've got one over here for you.

Ohhhh my word this made me LOL ... b/c I know the EXACT feeling. The last time I attempted a cartwheel (somewhere between my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies, I think), I had the SAME feeling. I finished the one and thought, "I'm too old for this!" LOL.

Perhaps if you post a video of you cartwheeling I'll be inspired to try again ... after some serious stretching.

;)
Lindsay, I can teach you to flow with your carthwheels, and handstands. I've been practicing mine the past few weeks and I'm pretty much a circus gymnast now. I did one by the ducks the other day and they clapped with their bills for me. Marty and Marta have also provided some much needed support, although Marta's head is so big that she really can't cartwheel without collapsing to the ground.
