Happy Birthday Titus Grant!
I love it when you come home from the hospital and you can give your baby's age in days. I always get a little sad, when after 7 days I have to go to saying the age in weeks, and then more sad when all of the sudden it's months. But I conform, and will not give his age in weeks or months, because while it feels a teeny bit better I know it doesn't keep my little ones little.
One year goes by too fast, even those days that feel like they were
moving in slow motion are now hard to remember.
This kiddo has been easy-peasy and we have all taken in as much of him as humanly possible.
Titus has been my first child to growl, grunt, and the first to smile after burping.
The first to boil over excitement when we go through the sports aisle at Target, and the first to go into massive hysterics as we leave the sports aisle.
He is my first child to take great, lengthy, and consistent naps.
He likes to throw everything he can get his hands on and
is insistent upon trying on bicycle helmets when he is in the garage/playroom.
Titus is the first to try to go through obstacles, rather than around them and he loves to cuddle.
He loves to point and has a nervous giggle around pets and farm animals.
He is a fan of headbands and not leg warmers.
Addie has nicknamed him and nicknamed him some more. Added to the long list are: Boppy, Baross (which is short for Mr. Baroski & used with enthusiasm & authority), Sconge, Nooch, and lastly Sorbet.
Emma loves to decorate him and fancy up all his toys.
Daddy likes to give Titus his personal space, while growling with him.
And me, I just like to hold him & sometimes I even hold him through nap time and soak in those precious moments where he isn't too big or too heavy to keep close to me (and then sometimes I secretly work on his left-handed skills,
so there can be two of us in this household). :) Happy Birthday Titus!
You are special to us, a little man who God graciously gave to us to grow, raise,
and launch for His purposes....
but as for now,
you are still just 52 weeks and 3 days old
and wearing adorable red t-shirts that I pick out for you :)
