Hume Lake 2012

We spent Memorial Day Weekend up at Hume Lake Christian Camps again this year.  It is one of my kids' favorite weekend of the year.  Hume Lake has joined up with FCA and many public schools of the Central Valley to run football camps for 4 weekends in a row.  Brian has been the "I Dare You" session speaker for the last 6 years.  It is a 10 minute session right after breakfast where he is given the stage to share about Jesus Christ.  We are blown away year after year by the power of God's truth, the sheer need high school students have for a loving and saving Father, and how the gospel in its truest form without any stories, whistles and bells, is more than enough to change a life-to change a family, a school, and one day an entire Valley.  We are overwhelmed that God has chosen us to be a part of this ministry of these teams and of these players lives.  Football may be a sport, but I think God sees it as so much more.

My parents came this year.  I was so glad to share the weekend with them and to give them a glimpse into what God is doing out here in California.  My dad was on staff with Young Life when my parents first got married, so they know ministry and they know the need for Jesus in the public school arenas.  

Thank you mom and dad for making the long drive, for helping lend hands and eyeballs to watch over my kids with me, and for being wonderful roommates for the weekend.
