And the Beat Goes On

I love that my six year old will throw together an ensemble like this one...

I guess this is what happens when a free spirit has to wear a tan & blue school uniform all day.
Emma's preschool teacher once told me several years ago, "Emma marches to the beat of a drummer...it's just not the same beat as ours." I took that as a compliment then and I can see now, her inner "drummer" is still thumping the same beat.
(I will give a big shout out to school uniforms though, because we never have to think
about she's gonna wear-light blue, navy blue or tan, and she can go nuts with the color &

sequins when she gets home)!!

Today, after we had visited one or two too many $0.99 stores Emma read aloud to us in the car. Her reading doesn't phase me and I am always amazed at how much she can read and how fluidly. Well, her reading skills did get the better of someone else in the car.
Addie chimes in, "Emma, I really love Jesus, but could you stop reading the Bible out loud at me." To which Emma replies, "I just love the Lord, Addie, and I want to learn about Him all the time." Addie: "But could you pleeeease just stop reading about Him, all I hear is your voice."

Addie doesn't mince words. She gets right to the point and lets the chips fall where they may.
Addie's verbiage is as colorful as Emma's ensembles
and her tongue marches to the beat of a different (bold) drummer!!

Hi Lindsay! I have borrowed my dad's "fancy" camera to play with this summer and I was wondering what lens did you use to take those pictures? I can get his macro lens to make the background "fuzzy" but I can't get the all-purpose lens to do that. I have played with all kinds of settings so i am convinced it is the lens. All that to say, what lens do you use to take those pictures? Thanks and by the way your family is hilarious and beautiful! I love the stories about your girls.

Thank you so much for the camera lesson. I think you are right about the "stock" lens having a fixed aperture. I have tried messing with it like crazy. I think the next move is to rent a lens, didn't know you could do that! Thanks so much! I am starting a summer crafters "club" if you are interested let me know!
